The pressurized elevators offer the comforts of an airplane cabin and take a mere 37 seconds to travel the 382.2 meters from the 5th Floor to the 89th Floor Observatory. |

Taipei 101 is equipped with three wind-vibration dampers. One of them, the world's largest and heaviest, and the only one made visible to visitors, is located on the 89th Floor Observatory. It has a diameter of 5.5 meters, weighs 660 metric tons, and consists of 41 layers of 12.5 cm steel plates welded together. The system was built at a cost of NT$132 million. 360 piles driven 80 meters down into the ground, extending at their deepest 30 meters down into the bedrock, fortify Taipei 101's foundation.
