Over the past four decades, Taiwan has emerged as one of the major economic powerhouses of the Asia Pacific region.
As the economy continues to grow, the Government and people strive to transform Taiwan further into a major business center of the world. Being the political, economic and cultural center of Taiwan, Taipei City has always played the role of a locomotive, and TAIPEI 101 will become an integral part of this grand and ambitious plan.
Besides, it is a major BOT project that represents the first successful joint effort between the public and the private sector—a consortium comprising the “Who’s Who” of Taiwan’s blue-chip business giants.
Meanwhile, the project is a critical component of the glittering XinYi District Masterplan, which has created the ultimate business, leisure and residential environments.
As Mayor of this dynamic city, I cordially welcome the forthcoming completion and opening of TAIPEI 101 and I wish TAIPEI 101 a great success in the years to come.
