Runners’ Qualification:
Individuals older than 15 (Born before 1995 May 30th), but younger than 18 (Born after 1992 May 30th) can participate
in the race,but they must have acknowledgement from his/her parent or guardian with signature.


Elite runners:
(1) By invitation from abroad.
(2) Remaining elite runners must provide the record certificates of race events that have taken place within the last 2 years
and register with the Chinese Taipei Road Running Association (Events such as: run-up race, triathlon, hiking, bike race,
swimming competition, track and field meet.

The winners of run-up races in the past years will be enrolled preferentially, while others will verify by their records
in other sports fields, For inadequate vacancies, runners will be filled in due order.
(3) The entry limit is 101 runners, the racers will start off the course. The total prize cash amounts to NT$1,010,000.


Self-challenge individual:
Welcome to the public older than 15 years of age (limited to 2,000 runners). Registration must be completed through
the website and the runners list is finalized by computer random drawing on May 8th (SAT).


Group racers:
Welcome to people of all circles to group in teams of 30 members for each team (Number of Teams is limited to 20).
Registration must be completed through the website and the list of teams is finalized with 20 groups on May 8th (SAT)
through computer random drawing.

Self-challenge individual and Group racers:
To register on the web site http://www.taipei-101.com.tw/runup2010 . Please fill out the application carefully, after
your registration is successful, no changes will be permitted in the future.

All participants must be in good physical and mental health to register for the race events, and after your registration is
successful; there will be no changes to the runner or singlet size permitted.

L size will be granted in case no size is indicated during the registration. The committee will have the right to change your
singlet size if there are not enough of the relevant sizes.

Elite and Self-challenge individual runners must wear the outfit which provided by the committee to run overall the race.

There is on outfit to provide to group racers, group racers wear the uniforms which present their company image.

First, apply for entry in the race on-line at the website (all information must be correct or the applicant will not be considered).
2. Computer drawing

3. Formal application

The application must be completed in person at the CTRRA office in Taipei or by registered mailing (post marking no later than May 13th ) to the CTRRA with the entry fee and all forms.  Any incorrect or incomplete documents by applicants will automatically forfeit the applicant from the race.

Verification of the information of the applicants. Any individual applicants or groups which are not qualified or forfeited from the race shall be notified (Documents shall not be returned but the entry fee will be mailed to you after deducting the postage.).
4. Announcement
May 19th (WED) ~May 21st (FRI) Announcement of the final qualified participants on the website.  The host organization will notify the qualified racers by email and also mail the check-in notification form.
5. Check-in
May 28th  (FRI) ~ May 29th (SAT) 9:00-17:00 Please bring your pick-up notice with you to collect your race packs (no extended hours). You can have someone else pick up your package on your behalf, but your representative must still bring ID and your pick-up notice.


Computer random drawing :

In order to provide more opportunities for the general public to participate in the race, 2010 TAIPEI 101 Run-up The Top will
adopt computer random drawing to finalize the participants list of limited amount to 2,000 of the self-challenge racers and
20 teams of the group racers.


How to pay:
  1. After the computer random drawing, the final participants list of self-challenge individual and group racers will be announced
    on the web site and an e-mail notice shall be sent to inform the runners.

  2. The final qualified participants of self-challenge individual and group runners shall register in person at the CTRRA office
    (address: Room 206, 2nd Floor, No.55, Changji St., Datong District, Taipei, i(Enter the Lan Chou Market and take stairs to
    the 2nd Floor Tel: (02) 2585-5659) or by registered mail to CTRRA, mailing address: P.O. Box 47-110, Taipei, Taiwan,
    from May 11th to May 13th . Please make sure that you have included all required documents and expenses to process your
    application procedure.  If you do not pay the entry fee during May 11th to May 13th, or have prepared incorrect or incomplete
    documents, you will automatically be forfeited from the race and not permitted to enter the race course. The vacant positions
    will be filled from the stand by runners.

  3. Entry fee:(Pay in person at the CTRRA office in Taipei or by registered mail).
    Elite runners & Self-Challenge individual: NT$ 400 per runner
    The fee includes the deposit for the Champion chip, singlet, finisher certificate and personal accident insurance of NT$1million.
  4. Group racers: NT$18,000 for a group of 30 runners.  The fee includes the finisher certificate, the deposit for the Champion
    chip and personal accident insurance of NT$1million.

  5. The application form documents:

    「Registration form」,「ID card/ photocopy of Passport」and「Individual Declaration」with signature.
    Racers aged over 15 (born before 1995 May 30th) and under 18 (born after 1992 May 30th)

    「Photocopy of Business Enterprise Certificate」, 「Group Declaration」and 「Details of the members of company group form」


Rules and Regulations:
  1. How to check-in:After the runners complete the application procedure, check-in to pick up your items as follows:

    1. Please bring your pick-up notice with you.  You should receive the pick-up notice from the CTRRA about 1 week beforehand.
    2. If for some reason you still have not received your pick-up notice by the day you need to pick up your race package, please
      bring your registration receipt and ID with you for picking up your race package.
    3. If you are unable to pick up your race package, you can have someone else to pick up your package on your behalf, but your
      representative must still bring your pick-up notice.  The CTRRA will not be responsible for any mistakes made in picking up
      packages on someone else’s behalf.


Race Package Received by Mail (In Taiwan only)
If you wish to receive your package by mail, please indicate on the declaration form as instructed during registration
(additional postal fee required)
    1. Please be sure to indicate the proper address on the entry form to mail the race package.  The race packages include bib
      number, champion chip and souvenir, which will be mailed to the indicated address 3 days prior to the race event.

    2. The CTRRA will not be responsible for race packages that for some reason could not be delivered and were consequently
      returned to the CTRRA.  If your race package for some reason was returned to the CTRRA, you can pick it up at the CTRRA
      office during office hours (Monday to Friday 9am to 12 Noon and 1:30pm to 5pm) up to one week after the race event
      (May 31st – June 4th ).  One week after the race event, any race packages remaining unclaimed at the CTRRA office shall be
      discarded.

    3. A postage fee must be paid along with the entry fee, NT$130 per person, NT$1200 for a group.


Race package Pick-up at the Race Event (please avoid pick-up on race day if possible)
    1. If for some reason you are unable to pick-up your race package in person before the race competition, you can pick up your
      race package at the race event with an additional fee. An additional cost amounting to the same amount as that for receiving
      the package by mail will be charged for receiving the package at the race site.

    2. Please bring your pick-up notice with you to pick up your race package at the site from 7:00am to 7:30am.  There will be no
      pick up of race packages at the race site after 7:30am.

      If you do not pick up your race package in time you will automatically be forfeited from the race and not permitted to enter
      the race course.

      Participants who registered but were unable to pick up their race package may pick up their race packages in the week
      following the race event (May 31st – June 4th) during working hours at the CTRRA. One week after the race event any race
      packages remaining unclaimed at the CTRRA office shall be discarded.


  1. On the competition date, racer will undergo a health checkup first, and then receive your qualified number.  All racers must run in
    sequence according to the qualified number.  Only the racers with the qualified number can enter the race course.

  2.  If racers does not pass the first health examination, racers may try again 30 minutes later. If racers fail again, and in
    consideration of your own safety according to the doctors’ recommendation, racers have to quit the race without any refund
    or filling of the vacant position.

  3. Elite runners will start off at 08:00, following the directions of the staff, sequentially.  The first 10 runners will start off every
    60 seconds, and others will start off every 30 seconds.  The computer will calculate and record all runner times from the ground
    floor to the end at the 91st floor.  The cash prizes shall be awarded to the overall top 5 male and female runners.  
    The top 3 runners will also be awarded medals.

  4. Self-challenge individual runners will start off at 10:00am and run in sequence every 10 seconds according to the
    qualified number. The computer will calculate and record all runner times from the ground floor to the end at the 91st floor.  
    There is no placing for self-challenge individual runners. Please take care of your own safety and capability.  Do not fall over
    one another.  All finishing runners will receive finisher certificates.

  5. Group runners will start off at 09:00 and run in sequence every 60 seconds according to the qualified number. The computer
    will calculate and record all runner times from the ground floor to the end at the 91st floor.  The top 15 times in each group
    will be used to place top 5 groups which will be awarded cash prizes, trophies and medals.  The group runners must take
    good care of their own safety and capability.  Do not fall over one another.  All finishing runners will receive finisher certificates.

  6. Champion Chip:
    「Taipei 101 run-up the top」will provide entrants the Champion Chip to record the race times. The entry fees include the
    NT$100 deposits. All racers will receive the chip along with the racing bib and souvenir when checking in and will have the
    deposit for their chip returned to them after the race competition.  Please refer to the provided instructions or ask one of the
    officials at the race site for any inquiries on how to fasten the champion chip.  Final race results will be according to the
    times recorded by the chip and shall be displayed or announced by the event organizers. Distribution of the awards and
    prizes shall be determined according to the chip times. After the race competition, runners will have the deposit of their chips
    returned while they return their chips to the event committee.

  7. Violations:
    Competitors who commit the following violations listed below will have their race results disqualified from the competition:

    1. It is prohibited to bring personal items with you or take the lift up.
    2. Receiving assistance from another person or party during the competition.
    3. If you need to take a rest, please inform the staff and follow the directions to the rest area.  It is prohibited to sit down
      wherever you may be in order to make sure that you are not stopping or in the way of other runners.
    4. Any runners using substitute runners will have their results disqualified from the competition plus they will be banned from participating in any CTRRA activity or event for one year and be announced on the web site.

  8. Disputes

    1. Competition disputes: during the race competition, competitors may not dispute the referees and officials.
    2. Dispute procedure: any dispute concerning the competition should be brought to the organizers attention within ten
      minutes after finishing the race and at the same time a deposit of NT$3,000 must be submitted. If the judges of the
      review committee conclude that the dispute is not justified, then the NT$3,000 deposit shall not be returned.

Prizes and awards

If the amount of cash awarded is more than NTD$19,999, then 10% tax will be deducted for winners who are citizens of Taiwan
and 20% tax will be deducted for winners who are not citizens of Taiwan (It is necessary to bring a photocopy of your ID with you.)

  1. Elite runners:Cash rewards and trophies will be awarded to the top eight runners in both the men and women groups.
    (The 1st-3rd place winners will be also awarded with medals.)

  3. All runners will be awarded finisher certificate before 14:00pm on the competitive date at the race course.  If you do not
    collect it , you can come to CTRRA with the bib number or ID during May 31st –June 4th , Monday – Friday from 9am to
    12pm and 1:30pm to 5:00pm (no extended hours).


Notice: (please read carefully )
  1. All participants have to fill out the declaration and must be in good physical and mental health to register for the race events.
    Do not register if there are health concerns such as heart diseases, etc. The organizers will not be held responsible for
    persons concealing such conditions.

  2. After finishing the race, if you are suffering from the drumming in the ears, it is a normal physical response. We suggest you
    swallow your saliva several times to relieve the uncomfortable feeling and try to relax it.

  3. The water station service will be set up on the first and 91st floors; on the way to the top.

  4. Storage of Personal Belongings:
    1. Participants must use the personal belongings bag provided by the event committee (only for this event) if they wish
      to check in their personal belongings. Otherwise, they may not store their stuff.
    2. The personal belongings bags can be checked in beginning on race day (May30th, 2010) at 7:00am. Use your racing
      bib number to retrieve your personal belongings bag. All bags must be checked out before14:00pm. (Please store
      all valuable personal belongings in a secure place. The event organizers shall not be responsible for the loss of any
      personal items).

  5. Registrants to the race events who were unable to take part in the race event can retrieve their souvenir from the CTRRA
    by bringing their race package pick-up notice to the CTRRA office within one week after the race event --- Monday – Friday
    from 9am to 12pm and 1:30pm to 5:00pm (any requests afterwards will not be considered) any race packages remaining
    unclaimed at the CTRRA office shall be discarded.

  6. Safety first. Please be sure that there is nothing wrong with your condition before starting the race. The referees or doctor
    have the right to stop any runner from continuing depending on his/her physical condition.

  7. Please bring your ID information with you at the race event.

  8. Any runners using substitute runners will have their results disqualified from the competition plus they will be banned from
    participating in any CTRRA activity or event for one year and be announced on the web site.

  9. The Champion Chip is used to record the race times. Please refer to the provided instructions or ask one of the officials at the
    race site for any inquiries on how to fasten the champion chip. The event committee will not be held responsible if there is no
    record on your champion chip due to your improper usage.

  10. After checking in, keep safe custody of your champion chip and bib number. The committee will not replace any lost numbers
    or chips. You will automatically be forfeited from the race without your bib number and not permitted to enter the race course.

  11. All participants shall agree to allow any video recording, photos, etc., of the race event be used for promotional and publication
    purposes.

  12. Any revisions to race event information will be announced by the CTRRA. If for some reason the race event is cancelled due to
    force majeure, a 50% refund will be granted to all paid participants.

  13. Any further announcements or revisions to these regulations will be announced by the event organizers and indicated on the
    CTRRA website.


Insurance against Public Accidents
  1. Dear runners: Sport keeps one healthy. Yet, one must consider his / her adequate sleep the night before the competition and
    finish breakfast 2 hours before the competition. The first-aid service association will provide first-aid for emergency. Any
    complications arising out of any illness of runners will not be covered in this accident insurance. The event committee will
    provide public accident insurance with coverage at NT$1 million for every runner. (See policy terms for details of the insurance.)

  2. 2. The insured shall be liable for the compensation of injuries, death or property damage that caused to a third party when the
    following accidents occurred during the policy is in force. When the insured claim indemnification from this company, we shall
    indemnify the insured:
    1. Accidents out of running occurred to the insured or its employees on the competition route as stated in the policy.
    2. Accidents occurred to the insured due to the buildings, passages, machineries or other working objects on the
      competition route.
  3. Items not covered by the insurance :
    (1) Sport-related injuries due to personal illness
    (2)Signs and symptoms that caused by personal problems or cardiovascular disorders, such as shock, heart disease,
    heat exhaustion, diabetes, heatstroke, altitude illness, epilepsy, dehydration ect.
